Diagnóstico

Con frecuencia, las masas escrotales pueden ser determinadas como no cancerosas mediante un simple examen realizado por un urólogo experimentado. Puede usarse ultrasonido, de ser necesario.

Tratamiento

Los tumores testiculares requieren biopsia y extirpación, por lo general, con la remoción de todo el testículo y el cordón espermático mediante una incisión en la ingle. Los tumores malignos de los testículos tienden a propagarse tempranamente a los ganglios linfáticos en el abdomen. En algunas oportunidades es necesario extirpar estos ganglios, pero con frecuencia ello depende del tipo de tumor, los marcadores tumorales y la radioterapia de los hallazgos patológicos o quimioterapia combinada, con cisplatino, etopósido y bleomicina.
